To ensure you get your treatment off to the best start possible, I have designed your initial appointment to ensure that you leave with important questions answered, an accurate diagnosis, effective treatment and immediate pain relief.
All of my initial appointments are 60 minutes in duration. This ensures that you are thoroughly assessed, your goals are fully understood and I can make an accurate diagnosis. I believe that less than one hour spent with you initially means important things can be missed.
Your Initial Appointment includes:
A thorough assessment (diagnosis and identifying your injury’s contributing factors).
An explanation of how long your recovery will take
Hands on treatment that is holistic and appropriate to your injury
Identification of your treatment goals
Outline of treatment options available to you
The beginning of a home exercise program to help you immediately begin to make the best progress.
Documentation of your initial appointments findings: your diagnosis, injury contributory factors, your goals, assessment findings, consultation notes, and our treatment recommendation to help you get back to your physical best.
You can self refer to the clinic. We accept Enhanced Primary Care cases (5 Medicare Rebated appointments referred from your GP), DVA and Workers Compensation cases. For more information visit the FAQ page
The number of sessions you require will depend on your condition and this will be discussed with you at your initial consultation. I do my best to get you back to your best as quickly as possible.
It is important to keep in mind:
Some injuries may take longer to resolve (wry neck, joint irritations of neck or back)
Very slow to respond injuries (e.g. long standing tendon problems) can take more than 12 weeks to resolve
Chronic conditions that will not necessarily be resolved in 6 or 12weeks (e.g. frozen shoulder)
Some conditions like osteoarthritis where the body must be maintained, requires “maintenance” or preventative care.
Post injury ‘check-ups’ are also recommended
