NSCC Instructor and Mentor Coach

ICF-Credentialed (PCC required; MCC preferred)  •  Contract  •  US-based  •  Hybrid (Virtual + In-Person)

We are building the founding faculty of a science-based, ICF-accredited coach training program — and we're looking for an ICF-credentialed coach who genuinely loves teaching and wants a stable, paid, science-grounded teaching practice without the work of building the business behind it.

ABOUT NSCC

The Nervous System Certification Certification (NSCC) is a 12-week program designed by Jessica Maguire that trains working coaches, helping professionals, and emerging coaches in the science and applied practice of nervous system regulation. We serve a global community of 200,000+ practitioners and deliver successful online and in-person cohorts.

We are pursuing ICF Level 1 accreditation so our graduates can count their NSCC hours toward the ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential. NSCC runs four to six cohorts annually across live virtual delivery and live in-person residentials at Omega Institute (Rhinebeck, NY), The Oaks (San Diego, California) and Europe in 2028.

The program is organized around four pillars: Trauma-Sensitive Sequencing, Advanced Practitioner Self-Regulation, Neuroeducation, and Supportive Practitioner Community. We are grounded in current polyvagal-informed science — not in trend language or self-appointed authority. Integrity matters more to us than visibility.

THE ROLE

As Instructor + Mentor Coach, you will own two specific sessions within the 12-week curriculum and facilitate the mentor coaching cohorts that NSCC students complete to claim their ICF Level 1 training hours. You will deliver four times per year (mix of live virtual and live in-person). You will design your two sessions once and refine them over time as the program evolves.

This is a contract role with the potential for growth.

Your two sessions
  • Session A — Ethics, Scope of Practice, and Establishing Agreements (Week 9): Approximately 4 hours of live instruction. You design and deliver content covering scope of practice for nervous-system-informed coaches, the ICF Code of Ethics applied in body-based work, distinguishing coaching from clinical practice, and coaching agreements at session, multi-session, and engagement levels. Maps to ICF Core Competencies 1 and 3.

  • Session B — Facilitating Client Growth (Week 11 or 12): Approximately 4 hours of live instruction. You re-present and reframe existing NSCC content through an explicit ICF Competency 8 lens — action planning, accountability, integration of somatic insight with behavioral change, and supporting sustainable post-engagement growth.

Mentor coaching cohorts
  • Facilitate the structured mentor coaching component required for every NSCC student pursuing the ACC credential.

  • 4 small-group calls Ă— 90 minutes each, with 4–6 students per group, per cohort.

  • Provide ICF-competency-based feedback using the NSCC observation rubric, written sign-off at completion.

  • Review each student's 30-minute recorded coaching submission and case reflection.

What you'll bring
Required
  • Active ICF PCC credential (MCC preferred). The PCC floor exists because you'll be the named Lead Trainer on our ICF Level 1 application; ICF requires PCC or higher for that role.

  • US-based with the ability to travel to Omega Institute (Rhinebeck, NY)  and The Oaks (San Diego, CA) for in-person cohorts — typically twice per year. Travel covered.

  • Prior teaching or faculty experience with an accredited coach training program or comparable adult-education setting. We are looking for someone who has taught, not only coached.

  • Genuine interest in nervous system, somatic, or polyvagal-informed work. You don't have to be a somatic specialist, but the work should resonate with how you think about coaching.

  • Credential in good standing, no active ICF ethics complaints or sanctions.

Preferred
  • Mentor coaching experience under another accreditation pathway.

  • Public teaching or writing on coaching pedagogy or ethics.

  • Comfort with curriculum design and the willingness to author your two sessions from scratch.

  • Values alignment with science-grounded, integrity-first practice — over hype, celebrity, or trend.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Compensation. Combined contract value ranges from approximately $26,000 to $45,000 per year (PCC mid-range to MCC top of range), composed of (1) a one-time curriculum design fee of $3,000–$5,300 in year 1, (2) per-cohort instruction fees of $2,500–$4,500 per cohort Ă— 4 cohorts, and (3) per-cohort mentor coaching fees of $3,000–$5,500 per cohort Ă— 4 cohorts. Paid in milestones; predictable; not enrollment-dependent.

  • Travel covered. All travel, accommodation, and meals for in-person cohorts are covered or reimbursed.

  • No business overhead. Jessica Maguire's team handles marketing, enrollment, payments, platform, and student support. You design well and teach well.

  • Established audience. Cohorts fill from Jessica's community of 200,000+ practitioners — you do not recruit students.

  • Curriculum partnership. You author your two sessions and shape how the ICF Core Competencies are taught within NSCC. Jessica's curriculum framework provides the integration context.

  • Growth pathway. Possibility to expand into a Lead Mentor Coach role as NSCC scales to six cohorts per year across California, New York, Europe, and virtual. We'll discuss this naturally once we've worked together.

  • Brand association. Full access to Jessica Maguire and NSCC brand resources for your own professional positioning, within reasonable usage guidelines.

  • A program you can be proud of. Science-grounded, ethically rigorous, body-first. We don't chase celebrity or trend, and we don't ask you to either.

Logistics
  • Engagement type: Independent contractor. You retain your own coaching practice and other professional engagements.

  • Initial term: 12 months, auto-renewing annually by mutual agreement. 90-day notice off-ramp on either side between cohorts.

  • Cohort schedule: Four cohorts per year, dates set 6 months in advance. Your two sessions occur in Weeks 9 and 11 (or 12) of each cohort, plus mentor coaching cohorts in the final weeks.

  • Time commitment: Approximately 25–40 hours per cohort (instruction + mentor coaching + assessment work), concentrated in the relevant weeks. Curriculum design is a one-time 15–25 hour project in months 1–2.

  • Insurance: Professional liability insurance required (your responsibility as an independent contractor).
